Leon Tsoukernik, born on November 7, 1973, is a Czech entrepreneur, former casino owner, and recreational poker player.
He is best known as the owner of King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, which has become a prominent venue for major poker events, including the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE).
In 2019, he defeated Phil Ivey heads-up to win €1,102,000 in the King's Short Deck €100K Super High Roller. Although the tournament was part of the WSOP Europe festival, it was not a bracelet-awarding event.
"I would describe myself as a poker-oriented casino owner and an occasional [poker] player," Tsoukernik told PokerNews in 2015. "In addition to this, I'm also an art collector."
Leon Tsoukernik and King's Casino
Tsoukernik founded King's Casino in Rozvadov in 2003, transforming it into a poker-centric venue by 2009. Under his leadership, it has hosted prestigious events, including the WSOPE since 2017. In 2019, he expanded his casino portfolio by acquiring the Atrium Casino at the Hilton Prague Hotel, rebranding it as King's Casino Prague, which now hosts the European Poker Tour Prague.
In June 2024, Tsoukernik sold his 60% share in the property to two other stakeholders. The shares are thought to be valued at €300 to €400 million, though the exact value is unknown.
